KLUTINA RIVER

The Klutina is one of the fastest rivers in Alaska. The river originates at the Klutina Lake flowing for 23 miles draining into the Copper River. The Klutina is rated class III with intermittent stretches of whitewater rapids. At times the river lies in a deep valley it’s  steep eroding banks keeps foot traffic and walk in fishermen to a minimum. The majority of good fishing holes are only accessible by boat. If you are looking for an adventure the Klutina is a good place to find it!

GULKANA RIVER

The Gulkana River is a large drainage composed of the main, middle, west and north fork. The main branch of the river originates in the Alaska Range and slowly meanders south out of Paxson Lake, down the valley for nearly 80 miles where it drains into the Copper River. The waters are clear, warm and gentle. The  Gulkana River was announced  a National Wild and Scenic River. The river is rated Class I-III and makes for a most peaceful experience. The river is a great place to fish for the prized Copper River Salmon.

TONSINA RIVER

The Tonsina River is wild and remote. Chances are you will not see another person the entire day. The river is swift with rapids, tight corners and lots of braids.  It is so swift the salmon that run up the Tonsina have to be really big and strong to make the journey. The Tonsina is a great place place to fish for king season in July.
